The SC Tal der Rosen is a Mixed Ultimate team from various places in Germany, Austria, and occasionally Switzerland. Some people think it a Stuttgart-based team which is less than half-true. Some of our players are from Stuttgart, but the team consists mainly of a list of e-mail addresses from various places. We meet about seven to ten times per year to attend Mixed tournaments throughout Europe. The most important one for us is the yearly Paganello tourney at Rimini, where we play every year since 2002.

Probably I should explain about the team name.

SC, of course, originally refers to Swinger Club. We call ourselves Swingers because we like to play the 'swing', a special play in Ultimate. The swing is a pass vertical to the playing direction which serves as an extra opportunity to lose the disc. At some point I abbreviated 'Swinger Club' with 'SC' because I felt a bit awkward standing in my bank and telling the (female) clerk that I wanted to bank-wire 2000 Euro to Cotequila Productions in Italy and that the subject matter was a swinger club ...

Tal der Rosen literally means 'valley of the roses' and is a wonderful place in the Killesberg Park in Stuttgart. It is a green in a valley on a hill (!?) where we frequently practice on Sunday mornings. Playing actually starts at 11 am but that is way too early for some of us ...

The team has first attended tourneys in 2001 (Winterthur, Milan), but the actual formation of the squad was in 2002 with our first attendance at Paganello. In the meantime, the team has changed considerably, and so it still does.
